    Pricing & Billing

Frequently asked questions about pricing, quotes, and billing

Our pricing is calculated on a per-variant basis. The price per variant decreases as the total number of variants in your experiment increases, effectively providing a volume discount. This bulk pricing can apply to a single order containing variants for multiple different targets, allowing you to combine projects to achieve a better rate.

While the cost per assay is consistent across most protein formats (e.g., VHH, scFv, Fab), it does increase with the length of the protein due to higher gene synthesis costs. You can get an instant estimate for your project using our online pricing calculator at https://beta.adaptyvbio.com/.

Our average turnaround time (TAT) is approximately three weeks, with over 90% of our projects completed within this timeframe. This period begins once you have uploaded your final sequences and confirmed the experiment on our platform.

While three weeks is a conservative estimate, we are often faster and can sometimes deliver data in as little as two weeks. You will receive a projected timeline for your specific project to assist with your internal planning.

No, we do not charge for proteins that fail to express. Our pricing model is based on successful protein expression and testing. If a protein cannot be expressed at sufficient levels for testing, you will not be charged for that variant.

This policy ensures you only pay for actionable data and reduces the financial risk associated with challenging protein sequences.

We can accommodate a wide range of batch sizes to meet different project needs:

Minimum batch size: We can process single variants for pilot studies or proof-of-concept work.

Maximum batch size: We routinely handle batches of 100+ variants and can scale to accommodate larger projects of 500+ variants with advance planning.

    Optimal batch sizes:

    • For screening: 10-50 variants provide good statistical power while maintaining cost efficiency
    • For optimization: 50-200 variants allow comprehensive exploration of sequence space
    • For large-scale projects: 200+ variants benefit from significant volume discounts

Contact our team to discuss capacity planning for very large projects (>500 variants).

Our payment and invoicing process is designed to be straightforward and accommodating:

Payment timing: We typically invoice upon completion of the experiment and delivery of results.

Payment methods: We accept various payment methods including wire transfers, ACH payments, and credit cards (for smaller orders).

Invoicing: Invoices are sent electronically and include detailed breakdowns of services performed.

Terms: Standard payment terms are Net 30 days from invoice date, though we can discuss alternative arrangements for long-term partnerships.

Purchase orders: We accept purchase orders from established organizations and can work within your procurement processes.

Yes, for new customers or exploratory studies, Adaptyv offers the option to start with a pilot project. This allows you to evaluate our platform and workflows on a smaller scale before committing to a larger campaign.

Minimum Size: Pilot projects typically involve at least 24 protein variants.

Workflow Evaluation: Gain insights into data quality, reproducibility, and scalability.

Seamless Scaling: Easily transition from pilot to larger-scale projects without disrupting workflows.

Benefits of starting with a pilot:

    • Validate our data quality meets your standards
    • Test compatibility with your protein formats
    • Experience our platform and communication process
    • Establish baseline performance metrics for your proteins
    • Inform design of larger follow-up experiments
